1. Acceptance of terms
Reading the blog, leaving a comment, subscribing to the feed, or contacting the author means you accept these Terms and the linked Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
2. Content ownership
All original posts, page text, author commentary, manifest descriptions, story scripts, and cover images on this blog are © Sai Kiran (pandrala) unless otherwise marked. The classical Vikram-Bethala / Baital Pachisi frame is in the public domain — but the specific retellings, dialogue, and modern reinterpretations published here are original copyrighted works.
3. Permitted use
You may, without prior permission:
- Read, view, and listen to all content on the blog for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Share links to specific posts on social media, messaging apps, email, and personal websites
- Quote up to 200 words from any single post on a third-party site, provided you (a) credit "Sai Kiran / pandrala / bethalakathalu.blogspot.com" with a working link back to the original post, and (b) do not modify the meaning of the quote
- Embed the official RSS / Atom feed in personal feed readers
- Print individual posts for personal reading offline
4. Prohibited use
Without prior written permission, you may not:
- Republish full posts on any other website, app, or print medium
- Translate posts into other languages and publish the translations elsewhere (translation rights are licensed case-by-case — write to the contact email)
- Use posts (or excerpts longer than 200 words) in commercial publications, paid newsletters, books, anthologies, or YouTube/podcast scripts
- Use cover images or any blog imagery in your own materials
- Use posts as training data for generative AI / LLM models without an explicit written licence (see Section 11 below)
- Frame, scrape, mirror, or reproduce the blog in a way that obscures the original URL or author attribution
- Modify posts and republish the modified version
- Remove copyright notices, author bylines, or footer attributions
- Use the "Bethala Kathalu" or "Charlieverse" names in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation
- Impersonate the author in comments, forums, or third-party platforms
5. Comments policy
Comments on posts are moderated. By submitting a comment you grant the author a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display the comment on the blog. The author reserves the right to:
- Moderate, edit, or remove comments that are spam, abusive, off-topic, defamatory, or violate Indian or US law
- Block commenters who repeatedly violate this policy
- Quote interesting comments in author notes (with attribution to the commenter's display name) — if you object to this, mark your comment "do not quote"
Do not post: personal attacks, slurs, doxxing, sexual content, advertising, religious or political incitement, or anything that violates the law where you live or where the blog is hosted (Telangana, India).
6. Linking policy
You may link to bethalakathalu.blogspot.com from any non-spam, non-illegal website. You may not frame the blog inside another site or use techniques that obscure that the content is hosted by Blogger / Google.
7. Account and access
The blog does not require login. Anyone may read freely. Comments may require Google sign-in (Blogger's standard), in which case Google's terms apply for account creation. The blog cannot delete a Google account on your behalf — manage that via myaccount.google.com.
8. Termination
The author may discontinue, suspend, or restrict access to the blog at any time without notice. Specific content may be edited, removed, or archived. Posts may be unpublished if a copyright complaint is upheld (see DMCA notice) or if a factual error is severe.
9. Disclaimers
The blog and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The author disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement. Use of the blog is at your own risk.
For specific liability disclaimers, see the Disclaimer page.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from use of the blog, including but not limited to: lost profits, data loss, emotional distress, decisions made based on story content, or content on external linked sites. The author's total liability for any claim shall not exceed ₹1,000.
11. AI training and machine-readable use
Content on this blog is not licensed for training generative AI models or large language models, whether by Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, xAI, Mistral, Cohere, or any other LLM developer or aggregator. The blog is a personal storytelling project; bulk machine ingestion for model training requires a separate written licence and per-token compensation.
The robots.txt file declares this preference. The blog also includes anti-scraping noindex directives where applicable. AI developers should respect these signals as a courtesy and as a matter of copyright compliance.
Reading individual posts using AI assistants for personal study, accessibility (e.g., text-to-speech), or summarisation is not restricted.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the author against any claims arising from your use of the blog in violation of these Terms, including but not limited to copyright infringement claims based on your republication of posts.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically the laws applicable in Telangana state. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana. International readers acknowledge that by reading the blog they consent to this jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
The author may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be flagged on the blog home page for at least 30 days. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after changes implies acceptance.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
16. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and DMCA Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and the author regarding use of the blog.
